The Department of Criminology invites applications from research scholars who wish to participate as visiting academics in the intellectual and social life of the Department.
Applications are welcome from scholars in any field of criminology, although preference may be given to applicants whose research is related to projects of mutual interest to faculty members of the Department.
Applications are encouraged from academics at whatever level of seniority or experience. Applications from doctoral students will exceptionally be considered; however, doctoral students wishing to spend part of their studies at the Department of Criminology are encouraged to do so by sending an informal enquiry to the Director of Graduate Studies Felipe.Estrada@criminology.su.se

Academic Visitors are given a workspace (with internet), access to the library and access to related facilities in the department, but there is no financial or administrative support associated with this position. Academic Visitors are expected to participate in the intellectual life of the Centre and and may be asked to present a seminar on their research.

Among the benefits of being a visiting scholar at the Department of Criminology are: library privileges; invitation to our seminars, workshops, and scholarly exchanges; Stockholm University campus privileges, such as athletic facilities and permission to audit classes. Please note that staff meetings and seminars at the department are usually held in Swedish, but that all staff members are English speaking.

Applicants must specify the period of their proposed visit. The department will consider applications for periods of time that vary from one month duration to the full academic year.
