If you are sick less then seven calander days

Report your first day of absence in Primula. Don’t forget to call your manager or supervisor. You should also report in Primula when you return to work.

If you are sick more then seven calender days: medical certificate

From calender day 8 you need a medical certificate. In this case there is a special form to report you abscense, contact the administration fore more information.

If you are on sick leave over 14 days you need to report it.

If your child get sick

If you are at home with your sick child, report this in Primula. Make sure you report the same date in Primula as you do to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. 

If your child is sick for more then seven days, send in a copy of a medical certificate to the Human Resources Department.

Temporary parental benefit

The University's provider of occupational health care services is Avonova Hälsa AB.

All employees and Phd's can use the occupational health care services. Temporary staff and students can note use the occupational health care services.

Occupational health care

As an employee at Stockholm University, you are entitled to compensation for health care, up to SEK 3,000 per year. Compensation is given for training fees or for memberships at facilities such as gyms. As an employee, you are also entitled to one hour of health care per week. Register the cost in Primula, together with the receipt. Register the expense by the end of November and the receipt needs to be valid for the current year.

Valid expenses according to Skatteverket

Confirm the purchase with the Administrator, who also books all purchases of terminal glasses.
Register expenses for medicines for the entire year at one time. Use a summary from e-health 1177 and register the cost during December or no later than the end of January the following year.
There is no reimbursement for doctor's visits. This ended on 2021-02-01.

The calendar year is the qualifying period for vacation. You receive paid vacation for the time that corresponds to your work during the calendar year. The number of vacation days you are entitled to depends on your age.

Information and Support for Your Work

Here you’ll find useful information to support you in your daily work – from travel bookings to crisis management.

Travel

You book your tickets and hotel at our travel agency. First class tickets are not accepted by SU, nor is booking overnight stays on Airbnb. Hotels booked through the travel agency follow SU's travel and environmental policy.

Book your trip here

Register your travel invoice in Primula. Attach receipts (digital or scanned) with the travel documents. When you travel on business, you are insured via the University.

If you want to book a ticket for a guest lecture or a opponent, please talk to the administration. If the guest wishes to travel first class, we offer compensation for second class and the person in question must pay the difference.

Good to know regarding business trips

Purchases should be made against an invoice with a 30-day payment term. Approval from management must be obtained before making any purchase.
If an expense has been paid personally, it should be registered in Primula with a digital or scanned receipt attached. In these cases as well, management approval must be obtained in advance.

Membership Fees
If the employer pays the membership fee for an employee’s participation in an association, network, or similar organization, this is considered a taxable benefit for the employee — regardless of whether the membership is required for the position or not.
This applies not only to membership fees for non-profit organizations, but also to fees for trade unions and professional or scientific associations of various kinds.
