Organisation

The department has about 40 employees. The Head of Department is responsible for the activities with the support of the Deputy Head of Department and the Head of Administration.

Department Board

The Department Board is the highest decision-making body. It is chaired by the Head of Department and includes the Deputy Head of Department, representatives from academic and administrative staff, doctoral students, and students through the Criminology Student Council.

Management

The Department Management consists of the Head of Department, the Deputy Head of Department, and the Head of Administration. Together, they lead the Department’s operations and strategic development.

The Head of Administration is responsible for planning and coordinating administrative routines, financial management, budgeting and reporting, project accounting, and management of the administrative and technical staff.
The administrative and technical team’s role includes human resources, procurement, legal matters, communications, IT and web, facilities, course administration, and coordination of the Stockholm Prize in Criminology.

Work Environment and Equal Opportunities

The Head of Department has overall responsibility for the work environment. The Deputy Head of Department coordinates ongoing work on health and safety, gender equality, and equal opportunities, in close collaboration with the Head of Administration, safety representatives, and the local work environment group.

The Local Committee for Work Environment and Equal Opportunities monitors and develops these areas and meets several times each semester. The Department also has Health and Safety Representatives who work to promote a safe and inclusive workplace.

Environmental work

The department's environmental manager is currently managed by the Head of Department Tove Pettersson. He monitors the department from the aspects that are relevant to the environment: paper consumption, energy use, choice of products, etcetera.
